Book Review: Easy Cake Decorating

This week I am reviewing the Easy Cake Decorating book. When I first started baking, I found it extremely hard to find any books with step by step guides on how to decorate cakes, back in the days YouTube was not as extensive!

I came across this book in a discount store completely by accident. What a find! Its been in my baking book collection for years and I still go to it for inspiration.

There are lots of different icing techniques for decorations and have step by step guides on how to achieve the final look. Every page has beautiful pictures of what the cake can look like after practise.

Considering the price of the book when I purchased it, I was not expecting much. But I was pleasantly surprised. I would honestly recommend this for anyone who is starting out and who needs a push and easy learning decoration techniques.

This book gets a 5-star rating from myself. Personally, I was so pleased to find a book where every idea is illustrated with step by step easy to follow guides. I would say its dummy proof. I have had books where they make you guess what the final decoration will look like via its written instructions. Baffles me why someone would purchase a book like that. But this book is the opposite.

I learnt many ways of manipulating icing with different techniques to help make my cakes look pretty. I still use these skills today.

This book is a must have in your baking library! If you are a baker starting your journey, this will lead you to beautiful creations!
