Hi!
I am a self-taught amateur baker; my first attempt at baking was at work entering a baking competition for fun. I did not win, but really enjoyed the baking part of it.

My baking journey truly began when I got my own space to develop and explore new techniques. There were many days when I would cover the whole kitchen in a huge puff of flour and icing sugar (this still happens today) before I even got to the baking. Many wasted cakes and recipes. But lots of fun and joy with every attempt!

I am glad I continued to trial and error recipes and tailor them to my liking. I have collected many books now Im baking and tried many recipes. I am not a professional baker, but I hope as I continue down this road my skills will develop and perfect.

Apart from baking I am a lover of GIN and cooking – I like exploring and tasting all types of gin from all parts of the world – My gin collection grows every week as I search high and low for wild gins I would have never known were out there. I also like tasting different types of food from all around the world and then trying to recreate them with my own twist. You can find my gin and cooking blog on Instagram @lee_normanwong .

What I love about baking (and cooking) is seeing the look in people’s eyes when they see my bakes (and food) and how much joy it brings them when they eat.

I am at the start of my journey and hope one day to be able to grow this side of my life and make more people happy. Keep following and checking in.
